Christmas is wrong.

Christmas is a time of goodwill toward all men, a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and exchange presents, feast and make merry. Yes? No! Why? Because it is based on pagan rituals and has the trappings of pagan themes and practices within it. Scripture tells us that God specifically forbids us celebrating Him through any man-made festival but only through those He set down for us to worship Him. Nowhere in the Bible is Christmas mentioned and nowhere are we told to celebrate it.
It is nice to celebrate a season of goodwill toward one another and to give gifts if one so wishes but it should not be a time for celebrating God. Neither should it be a celebration of any other religion or god. Christmas needs a new name and has nothing to do with Christ Jesus. Many Christians are now realising this and turning away from this man-made festival as a means of worshipping God.

Cleaning up.

Some months ago, at the end of May to be precise, I posted ‘Not ashamed’ and I was talking about my faith. I have been having some deep thoughts lately about my life, my attitudes and my faith. I have been reading other Christian people’s blogs and Christian sites in general and I am being reminded about my own shortcomings. When I became a Christian everything seemed clear and defined but over the years certain things try to make that less so. I am talking about compromise and allowing things in my life to ‘water down’ my beliefs and what I know in my heart to be true. For instance I read about how the Christian Church opposes certain areas of society and lifestyles and gets ostracised for it. I read how some of the churches ‘bend the rules’ and try to accomodate those who are essentially unbelievers. Whilst it is incumbent to reach out to others it is not acceptable to preach any other gospel than the one Gospel we were given. The Church must stand steadfast in this and face criticism no matter what happens. If our beliefs are based on knowledge and faith then we must uphold them. We cannot claim to be Christians bringing the message of God if we fail to uphold the Gospel. Now I am not saying that I have not been upholding that which I know to be true but I must confess that I have been allowing ‘un-Christian’ beliefs and influences to blur my vision. I have therefore begun to clean up my act, empty my bin of trash and disallow any influences that are not of God from turning me away from the narrow way to life. I have started the process by removing offensive material from my computer, from my personal belongings and from my thoughts.

Afternoon invitation.

While I was in my local pub last night losing money on the races (LOL) an elderly friend came in and sat with my ex. and I. He and another friend had been out on the town all afternoon. Now these two guys are not short of a few pennies, I know the other one is a millionaire. Anyway this guy asked us if we would like to visit the pub on the afternoon of the 30th Dec because they were having a party with all food and drinks free! A very generous gesture I think but maybe a bit foolish. If word gets around the place may be packed to capacity! Maybe not but you know what some people are like. I might have been going to the pub on that day anyway, as is my want and I might have just stumbled in on the event and I know I would have been welcomed but it is nice to be invited isn’t it? As things are I cannot guarantee being there but I will go if I can.

A weekend off?

A weekend off? Maybe but I won’t be holding my breath waiting to see if that is true, time will tell! This week as with most of those I have been working have been anything else but easy. I wonder sometimes if I’ll ever get the chance to be involved in something which taxes my brain to the minimum instead. I live in hope. In the meantime I get on with it just like I know that you do…………….yes? Written at 2.08 am……….
