It can only get better. How many times have you heard that spoken? We say these things but in reality do things get better at all? You may say that things do get better on an individual basis but overall things do not get better at all. We see all around us degradation, disrespect and dereliction in respect to one another as well as to the fabric of our existence, our environment. Many strive to improve things but others have no intentions in that direction. The result is a superficial improvement, a kind of dual standard in our lives. There is an element amongst us that is hell-bent on destroying anything that is beautiful, constructive or an improvement. Things can only get better but only if we are all pulling in the same direction. Therein lies the problem. I feel that we, as a society of people will never reach that ‘Shangri-la’, that level of perfection whereby we all live in harmony if we cannot all be of the same frame of mind. We must however keep on trying.
