What will you do tomorrow?

Posted by Shirley Anne on March 14, 2010

Today it is Mothering Sunday or Mother’s Day here in the UK. It is a time to celebrate mothers. Children bear gifts and show appreciation of their mothers. Many mothers will be taken out to dinner or have a party in their honour. Others will have a quiet time with their loved ones and family. Sons and daughters will have spent time planning what to buy or where to dine and how to make the day special and today they hope their mothers will enjoy it all. What will they be doing tomorrow? We all have plans of one sort or another. We plan to get up from our beds and face the day ahead. We plan our work, our meals, our holidays, our special days all in the hope that they will happen. We expect that nothing will go wrong and that all our aspirations will be met. What if the unexpected happens? Would you be prepared to face the unusual, especially if it was something totally out of your belief system? What will you do tomorrow when your world falls around you, all that you hold sincere is destroyed and you find yourself living in an entirely different life to that which you are accustomed? It’s not going to happen you say. You are secure and nothing is going to change your world. Remember John Lennon singing ‘Nothing’s going to change my world’? Something did change his world. Today is where you live. Tomorrow, that is the tomorrow you expect, is not guaranteed. The future holds many surprises and not all of them are good.
