Naked at last!

I can see the house now that all the scaffolding has been taken down! I enquired about the young guy who had the accident and who suffered a severe cut to his temple and much bruising from his fall and fortunately he is doing fine. This morning I had three jobs to attend on and I was out of the house before eight o’clock. When I returned at ten-thirty all was done. The guys doing the painting had also been but because it was raining they couldn’t proceed with their work. Hopefully they will be here in the morning when we are promised a drier day. E and I carried out some minor repairs around the house until lunchtime. After lunch she went out with her mum for the weekly shop. I prepared the vegetables for our evening meal and sat with my computer writing this and drinking the remainder of the red wine I had yesterday. The house now looks bare with the scaffolding gone. All that remains to be done to the house is the remainder of the painting. As for the ground work, the original garden work is unfinished and we have yet the area under the window and front door approach to be re-laid. E’s nephew is doing all that work and he called around earlier to say that he will be back to start it soon and take it to completion in one go. I am so happy about that because previously he was doing a day here and a day there and nothing much was getting done. The guys doing the gates and railings have not been in touch as yet but I think their visit is imminent. When all this work is done we are thinking of decorating some of the rooms and the cellars. I think we will be leaving that until the weather is less sunny!
