Yesterday my cellphone started making gurgling sounds. It was informing me that the battery was almost drained. Usually the battery lasts a couple of days but I have been having difficulty lately with the chargers lead. If it was bent a certain way the charger couldn’t send power to the phone. Eventually, today in fact, it gave up the ghost completely! Not only that but the phone drained of power so quickly because the screen remained fully illuminated even when in idle mode! A few months ago I had experienced problems with the Bluetooth connection to the ‘hands free‘ system in my vehicle so that each time I drove it I had to connect the phone manually. My phone was due for replacement under contract and as I need it mainly for business I went into town this afternoon and arranged for a replacement. Ten minutes after I arrived at the shop I was leaving with a new phone. Naturally the old Sim card was fitted into the new phone but it appears my contacts were not saved on it! Evidently they were on the phone memory which couldn’t now be accessed because the battery couldn’t be recharged. So it means I have to place them in the new phone manually! Oh well. I got a better deal with the new phone, same allowances for texts and voice as I had before but 5,000 minutes free Internet access each month too. Not that I will use that facility, in fact I know I won’t. When I am out with my phone I do not have the time to browse the Internet because I am busy working, driving, shopping, dining out or socialising and so on. I use the Internet solely when I am at home. So now I have to start again with this new phone learning how to use it.
