When I was in the US a couple of weeks ago I went to see a movie. It was ‘The Proposal’, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I fell asleep after the first half hour, not because I was bored, I was simply tired. Today I got the chance to see it again, free. My ex had won two tickets to see it and we went together this evening. I am happy to say I stayed awake this time and found the film very funny and entertaining. Yes, it does have a happy ending!

Well it’s been a funny old week has this one. Hardly any work to do at all. I like the leisure time of course but would prefer at least more work than I am getting at present. I have one little job to do tomorrow to end the week. Next week I won’t mind having no work as I start my vacation on Wednesday. No doubt I’ll get lots of calls come Monday…LOL. So it’s kinda quiet here just now. I went down to see Lauren today to have some electrolysis but she didn’t turn up or if she did it was after I returned home. I hope she’s ok. I won’t get to see her now for a few weeks. I went home and mowed the lawn before the forecasted rain appeared. It stayed dry! Typical, although it is getting overcast just as I write. Went to a pub for lunch but needed to return home early. That’s about if for the day. Now I’ll play guitar, watch tv, read and maybe go for a walk. Indoors! LOL. Well it looks like rain! Handy machine that treadmill.

I love a good movie. There are many themes I enjoy ranging from romance to sci-fi. There was once a time I would only watch a certain type of movie but these days I am finding enjoyment in all sorts of films. I wrote about stubborness a few weeks ago and talked about people who refuse point blank to try different things in their lives such as trying food they have previously declared ‘off limits’ to them. I think in our lives we tend to get in a rut sometimes. As long as the movie does actually move along it will usually keep my attention. I think it is good to have some sort of escapism in our lives periodically, if only to relieve the boredom and monotony! What say you?

Do you get the feeling that people watch too much television? I watch tv. who doesn’t? Am I a telly addict? I think not, I prefer doing other things although at times I find television quite entertaining. In days gone by people had to make their own entertainment but I sense many today would find that difficult. If it isn’t the television it’s the computer, if not the computer then a gaming machine. If I didn’t know better I would think we were all turning into couch potatoes. Find an interest, anything but don’t spend all your spare time watching tv.
