So there I was sitting at home on a Sunday afternoon with lap top on my, well, where else? Sitting there and sort of watching the tv at the same time….aren’t women supposed to be able to multi-task? I heared an unusual vehicle pull up outside the house and a minute later the doorbell rang. My ex. answered the door and I could hear male voices and people going upstairs. I looked out of the window behind me to see a fire tender parked. My instincts told me that they were surveying the potential fire hazards in the house but I was to be proved wrong. Ten minutes or so later the front door closed and they departed. We live in a four storey house, that is a basement or cellars and three floors for living above. It transpired that they had fitted a smoke detector on each floor in the stairwell area which meant four detectors. These are completely self contained and last ten years without a change of battery then are disposed of and replaced. We had been told they were ‘on the house’, ‘free’, ‘ex-gratia’. Of course the expense is covered by our taxes. Previously this service was offered only to senior citizens but it appears to have been made available to every household. Very nice. One small problem was the fact that the one they’d installed in the basement needed re-fitting as it had become loose on the ceiling. I fixed that problem myself.

Monday, Monday………so good to me……
As the song goes……..
Usually Monday is the start of another busy week for me but today I find I have little to do.
My son and I got his car going this morning by towing it using my van. It started ok and the problem lies with the starter motor, it needs replacing. So I followed him down to the service depot so he could ride back home. Hopefully his car will be ready lunch time tomorrow. In the meantime he is relying on a lift to work.
I have just been reading my ‘Prophetic Vision’ magazine which comes every quarter. Inside there are several interesting articles. One deals with history and talks about the political control of nations through organisations gaining strong footholds in governments. Freemasonry, Illuminati and other organisations are mentioned and how they influence global governmental affairs. It’s all to do with controlling the world. Mention is made of the financial control which brought about the present economic recession and how it is possible through the world’s banking systems. The article is headed ‘Fear is the weapon they are using! Faith is the shield God has given us!’ Now I know many of my readers may not be Christian or even believe in God, however all these things are written in Scripture and have come to pass but Scripture also prophesies things yet to happen. It would perhaps seem prudent to see what those prophesies are. Another article talks about ‘A religion whose god is the earth, whose mission is to save the planet and whose sin – is our carbon footprint’. End quote. Now we all know that global warming is not a new thing, it has happened many times in the past, thousands and even millions of years ago. In fact the last Ice Age was only around ten thousand years back! The question is asked, ‘Who was driving the cars and fuelling up the coal-fired power stations when we had the last ice age and the last global warming?’ The article goes on to talk about CO2 levels both in the atmosphere and inside our bodies. We need CO2 levels quite high inside our bodies to enable the release of oxygen from haemoglobin to supply our oxygen starved cells! One Russian scientist believes we have developed a method of storing high concentrations of CO2 inside our bodies because the levels in the atmosphere have dropped to a dangerous point. In real terms the present day level of CO2 is a mere 0.03%……..Not exactly a level to cause global warming! So why are we being penalised? Think about control.
There are links (to the left) here on my blog for more information on this subject for those who are interested.
Now I’m off to the pub!

I despair at the actions of my fellow beings. I pray for them. No doubt you will have heard about the goings on of some of the members of our House of Commons, our Government. There we find corruption, greed and deceit and it grieves me that this, it appears, is prevalent. We are expected to abide by the laws of the land and yet those who set these laws seem to be a law unto themselves. At least the deceit and false accounting has been brought to light and the relevant members been brought to account but it doesn’t instill a feeling of confidence when you find out that those who run the country are not all what they seem to be.

Do you ever think who actually runs the world? Immediate thoughts point to governments, then individuals. Maybe it is large consortiums, conglomerations, businesses, even supermarkets! Do we really know who pulls the strings? In light of the current economic recession one would assume it is the banks of the world which have control over things and that is why we are in such a state at the moment. Is it greed which determines what happens to the rest of us? Is anyone in a position to know the truth and is that the privelege of the few? It seems to me that there are two parallel worlds in operation, one in which we all live and work and the other that the vast majority know nothing about but which has the power and control of the one in which we do. The Matrix?

If we ever get to 3009 what do you suppose it will be like? Will the world ever be that better place in which to live? I was thinking about legislation after replying to a post on Jillian’s pages (see blogroll). In her blog she is talking about employment difficulties for those in society who are transgendered and how they are treated in matters of employment. We have laws in this land protecting the rights of individuals no matter who they are but in some countries these rights are not always given. In many cases, even here, the laws of the land are circumnavigated and those rights are abused.
So I was thinking about all the laws there are or have ever been passed by Government just to keep the system by which we live running smoothly. There are thousands of them and not only them but there are by-laws too. In every area of modern life there is a need for laws. Will there ever be a time when we can dispense with the majority of the laws we have? In 3009, will society be a better place in which to live or will the battle against the evil practices of some continue to haunt us?
My own views on this are governed by my religious beliefs and therefore I believe that there will be an end to the way we live today…….

What are your opinions of the so called ‘Nanny State’? We find government interfering in the way we lead our lives. For instance, we are told how bad smoking and drinking is for us and the Government then impose a levy on tobacco and alcohol in an attempt to dissuade us from partaking of these things. We are told our cholesterol should be kept below a certain level and they do everything to persuade us to follow a healthy lifestyle. On the one hand we get taxed but on the other hand we just get advice. Maybe they should place a tax on butter, cheese and fatty foods like they do on alcohol and tobacco. It proves one thing to me, they just want the cash. If they were really concerned they would impose high levels of tax on all things which are deemed bad for us.
However, I think they shouldn’t interfere in any way. Give out the advice yes but levy taxes, no! What gives them the right to do that anyhow? OK if we don’t take the advice then that is our problem and we should pay the price as in paying for health care when we are not looking after ourselves. I appreciate that in other countries paying for health care is normal but in the UK it is essentially free (through our National Insurance scheme, which we pay for through our earnings). The choice in any event is ours and not theirs. Any opinions on this?
