They think it is right

Same Sex Marriage

Recently same sex (gender) marriage was pronounced lawful in the US. As in many other western countries supposedly and purportedly claiming to be Christian they ignore what God says on the matter and quote ‘Human Rights’ for justification. For myself I don’t care what they might think about same sex marriage, it still doesn’t make it right and in God’s eyes it isn’t. Yes God demands that we love one another and some think that is an excuse for their unnatural behaviour. It isn’t, they are deluded. I don’t judge them. It is God who will judge them.

Romans 1
God’s wrath against sinful humanity

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is for ever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Romans 14:11

It is written:

“As surely as I live,” says the Lord,
“Every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.”

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

And also….1 Cor 6:9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men

  1. Don’t take out your anger on your fellow Christians who tried to undo some of the damages committed by the organized church. I would like to point out the work of the Marin Foundation that’s started apologizing on behalf of the Christian Church for its historical persecutions of the minorities. They are the good ambassadors to the non-christians.

  2. What anger is that my friend? I am not angry about anything, I am merely pointing to the fact that although many western nations claim to be Christian they ignore Christian values by allowing sinful practices to go unchallenged, even condoning them by their acceptance. We are as Christians to make a stand against such things and also to point out the error in the hearts of our brothers and sisters of the faith. It is admirable that such organisations as the Marin Foundation are trying to make amends and apologise for historical persecution of whole nations as well as minority groups but that has nothing to do with the content of this post.
